Photoshop Elements – Sponge Tool Pt.2
The sponge tool is nifty little tool which allows us to modify the saturation found in our image. It can be excess by clicking on this icon here and it is a part of this icon group in case any of these any other icons are one of these shown.
Now with this sponge tool selected there is one setting in particular that we need to focus on. You notice that we have similar settings to a brush. because sponge tool is an essence of the brush tool. However the settings that we wanna look at is right here the mode. Do we want a saturate or do we wanna desaturate. Lets go ahead and look at desaturate first. I am going to desaturate these colors over here and I am going to saturate these colors. Now if we want to saturate or desaturate our image as a whole then we should do so using our filters or even enhancing the colors found in the image.
We can go to adjust color and go to adjust hue saturation to adjust the overall saturation found with in the image. The use of the sponge tool then is just designed to work with the saturation of the small portion of our image.
