Now I’m going to just delete both of these layers here by shift clicking on both of them, holding my option key down on a Mac or alt on a PC and I can delete them both at the same time by clicking the trash icon.
Now if you’re going to be using this for an effect, it’s very simple to make an action out of it. So I’m going to open up my actions palette, bring that over here and… Let me separate hat from layers, and I’m going to highlight my set that has my name on it, and I’m going to click on the new action icon and title this colour infra red and click record and I’m just going to repeat those steps once again. I’m going to add an invert, I’m going to duplicate it, and change the top invert’s blending more to luminosity and then I’m going to stop the action. Okay, let’s see if that works.
Now of course, when you’re saving this out, you want to go to image, duplicate and create a flattened copy of your original. You don’t want to overwrite your original with the infrared effect. So, always make a duplicate. Now let’s see how our action works. So, let’s open up another file here… alright.
So we can play this action here by just clicking the play button, but we’ve got to select where we’ve named it. So um… we’ll just click on the state colour infra red and click play, and boom! We’ve got it done. I’m going to close this, without saving, and open up another image… let’s see how this guy works.
